In order to get a true diagnosis it is recommended for someone to get a saliva test to measure their levels of cortisol in their body or to work with an endocrinologist. A book I also recommend is Adrenal Fatigue: The 21ist century stress syndrome which I have a link for here. http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Fatigue-Century-Stress-Syndrome/dp/1890572152
Also, diet is a huge part in recovery. Here is one recipe that I suggest for taking the first step in recovery.
Adrenal Support Smoothie Recipe
The Ingredients- 1 cup green tea, chilled or room temp (substitute nettles tea)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 tablespoon maca (add more if you’re acclimated :))
- 1/2 tablespoon ginger spice or fresh ginger, grated
- A dash of Himalayan pink sea salt
- A little organic raw honey or stevia to sweeten (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ashwaganda powder
- 1 teaspoon of Brewers yeast (Its rich in B vitamins which support the adrenal glands)
- 1 teaspoon Siberian ginseng (powder or open up capsules and dump into smoothie)
- 1 cup spinach or kale to go green
- Additional super foods such as cacao, goji berries, coconut oil, bee pollen, and spirulina.
Place all of the ingredients into your blender and blend for around 30-45 seconds or until your desired consistency is reached.
